Summit & Earl W. Jimerson
Earl W. Jimerson is a self-contained community which consists of 3 fifteen-story buildings containing 422 apartments. It is located on 4 ½ acres of land in the eastern section of Brooklyn at the junction of four neighborhoods: Brownsville; East New York; East Flatbush; and Canarsie. Jimerson is a Mitchell-Lama cooperative housing development supervised by New York State Homes and Community Renewal.
The grounds have dedicated landscaped gardens and walkways that Summit and the Board worked to maintain as the centerpiece of the community. There is a landscaped plaza with tall shade trees, flowerbeds, sitting areas as well as 2 underground parking garages. Apartments at Jimerson are coveted because they are oversized and built with families in mind.
Summit understands that regardless of Jimerson’s current financial and physical health, there is a critical need to stay ahead of the natural wear and tear process of 60 year old buildings. Summit continues to identify and execute on the key initiatives that make up a consistent and ongoing capital improvement program. Below is some of the work that Summit has completed in the past few years:
-
Elevator Modernization including installing doors so odd/even elevators stop on every floor
-
Façade Repairs
-
New Security Cameras
-
New Asphalt Walkways and Concrete Driveway
-
LED Lighting Installed Throughout Common Areas
-
Renovated Interior of Both Indoor Garages
-
Built 1st Gym in 65 Year History of Jimerson
Jimerson has provided a safe and beautiful place to raise a family for generations. Summit is proud to have played an important role in that journey for over 25 years.
